TicketBAI integration for Zone Soft

The challenge

Zone Soft, a provider of point-of-sale and invoicing solutions, wanted to expand into the Basque Country. To do so, its systems needed to be compatible with TicketBAI, the Basque Government’s electronic invoicing regulation, which requires different technical and legal specifications in each province.

The challenge was to correctly integrate XAdES digital signing, adapt XML formats, and ensure the generation of valid invoices for all customers—without losing speed or usability for shops and end users.

Our approach

We began with a thorough analysis of TicketBAI’s technical and legal documentation, maintaining direct contact with the provincial councils to resolve questions and anticipate changes. We identified relevant differences between provinces and the need for a flexible solution capable of managing customizable invoice templates and adapting to any sector.

We chose to create a centralised API that would connect all Zone Soft’s products and services with TicketBAI. This API had to transform sales data into digitally signed electronic invoices ready to be sent to the authorities, automatically handling the specific requirements of each province.

The solution

We developed a robust, modular API using the Slim Framework, following SOLID principles and applying automated code quality and security controls.

• We implemented dynamic data-to-XML conversion using Twig templates, adaptable to each client and province.

• We developed digital certificate management and XAdES-T signing to ensure the legal validity of every invoice.

• We added independent modules for Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, enabling quick, province-specific updates.

• We automated PDF invoice generation with QR codes and simplified data for the end customer.

The API integrated seamlessly with Zone Soft’s existing systems and enabled real-time monitoring of invoice status, with proactive alerts for any incident.

The impact

Zone Soft was able to launch its services in the Basque Country with 100% TicketBAI compliance from day one. Basque retailers now issue valid electronic invoices in minutes, with fewer errors and no technical complications.

The solution has dramatically reduced the time and effort dedicated to tax management, facilitated the onboarding of new clients, and positioned Zone Soft as a leading provider in the region.
